Types Of Bingo - Bingo Information

With such an choice of types of bingo to play, you might not know what to choose. So, we thought it would be a good idea to help you make your mind up, by explaining what 75 ball, 80 ball, 90 ball bingo, and the others are all about.

Cinco

A card based variant game is Cinco which is offered at Tombola Bingo.  Here you can play between 1 and 5 hands, each hand has 5 cards.  Match a full hand first and you will win CINCO.  There are also 3 chances to win jackpots if you win within 5, 6 or 7 calls, the jackpot prize will vary depending on whether you are playing in a 10p, 20p or 40p room.  So for example if you play in a 10p room, you could win £5,000 if you get a full hand in 5 calls, £500 in 6 calls or £250 in 7 calls.

Jackpot Joker

If you play at sites using the Virtue Fusion software platform then you will also be able to play the Jackpot Joker which is a variant of 75 ball bingo but played with playing cards instead of a bingo callboard.  There are 2 chances to win, get the J pattern in 4 cards and then cover the board with 9 cards.

There are also two jackpots to play for, the progressive ‘Super Joker Jackpot‘ which starts at £10,000 and will increase until it is won if you get a full house in 16 cards of less and the last card called is a joker.  Or if you get a full house in under 16 cards but the last card is not a joker you could win yourself the ‘Joker Jackpot’ which is a set jackpot of £1,000.

90 Ball bingo

Traditionally 90 ball bingo was the preference for British bingo players as it is played in our bingo halls.  These games provide you with 3 chances to win for completing 1 line, 2 lines and then the full house.

Similarly to 75 ball bingo the call board has 5 columns B-I-N-G-O with 18 numbers each.  The game card has 3 rows with 9 columns but each row only has 5 numbers that need to be completed, the rest will be blank.

You can also win a progressive jackpot on top of your cash prize pot if you complete a full house within a specified number of calls. Some sites also play the speed version of the game where numbers are called out at a rapid pace.

80 Ball bingo

80 ball bingo, otherwise known as Shutterboard bingo, is slowly becoming just as popular as the traditional 75 ball and 90 ball bingo games as more and more bingo sites are introducing this game to their software packages.  The 80 ball bingo card consists of 16 squares, 4 rows across and 4 rows down which are marked off like a shutter being closed as the numbers are called.

The call board for 80 ball bingo is similar to that of 75 ball and 90 ball bingo board in that it has 5 columns across with each column being a different colour.  Each column has 16 numbers in it making the total 80.

80 ball bingo tends to consist of a sub pattern and then followed by a coverall.  Variations of the sub pattern that I have seen are diagonal line, horizontal line, x pattern, four corners to name but a few.

   

75 Ball bingo

75 ball bingo or sometimes called pattern bingo is favoured by players in the United States.   Although more and more UK bingo sites are now offering 75 ball bingo as well as the traditional 90 ball bingo games.

The call board has 5 columns B-I-N-G-O with 15 numbers under each letter e.g. B would be numbers 1-15, I numbers 16-30 etc.  The cards are made up with 25 squares made up of 5 columns and 5 rows and normally the centre square is a ‘free’ square.

There are variations of the types of 75 ball bingo game that can played.  Some sites just play a single pattern game such as letters, numbers, any line or coverall where you need to cover all 25 squares.  There is normally also a special pattern game which can be played for to win a progressive jackpot.

Whereas other sites offer players more than 1 chance to win in 75 ball bingo games with sub patterns and then coverall or the Scandinavian style of game where you have 5 chances to win for 1 line, 2 lines, etc.
